I found it! I was specifically looking at the home page sticky post.

Go to settings> reading> Front page displays: and select "A static page" and then select which page you want to show (in my case it was home)

also, choose> For each article in a feed, show: FULL TEXT (if you want the whole copy to show)

In the Politico theme, where can I take off the date of the post I have as the sticky post on the home page? Also, how do I make it so the whole text shows instead of it showing a "continue reading" button?
