I had the same issue. A quick fix (at least for desktops) was for me to edit the CSS "Bottom Panel" Section

I changed the line that says

#bottomPanel {
	width: 100%;
	position: relative;

to

#bottomPanel {
	width: 100%;
	position: initial;

Less of a hack then just removing the bottom Panel.

With the way the theme is designed/developed, the height of the panels is based on the height of the browser window. This is in order to create a full screen effect.

Hi,

not managing to reduce the HEIGHT of the Footer (apparently depending on the device we are visiting the website on...), i give up and also wanted to remove the footer panel.
Using your solution is indeed removing the footer panel, but then, goes automatically back up to the top panel, instead of blocking the screen at the bottom of the main panel.
Would you have any solution to that issue ?
And even better: would you have any solution to reducing the height of the footer ? (bottom panel)

Try adding the following to your Custom CSS box on the Customize...

#bottomPanel {display: none !important;}
