Are you using a static page for the home page? If so, add the following to your custom CSS...

body.home #main {display:none;}

can you post a link to your site, my guess is you just need to set widgets up(the content box will have instructions what to do)

I would like to remove the content box just on the homepage without it taking off the content box on all the post pages.
