Thanks, Chris! That clears things up. I was on the right track, but didn't realize the forum search had landed me in the site template thread instead of WP Navigator theme info.

I had a few issues with WP Super Cache plug-in that the client's hosting provider automatically installed with WP. Had to manually delete server-side cache directories and the fix worked beautifully on all category map displays.

I appreciate the great support for your themes.

Hi there,

This is the site template (non-WordPress) forum for the Navigator. For the WordPress version, please refer to this thread: http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/update-v152-for-the-navigator

Hi Chris,

I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting these kinds of issues, but I am not a programmer, and certainly not a theme developer of your caliber.
I have searched through all files in the wpnavigator theme folder for references to this line :

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"></script>

There is only 1 occurrence of this reference to the Google Maps API source URL in the 135 files of the wpnavigator theme folder in v 1.5.2 or in v 1.4.1 of the theme, and it is in the header.php file. Navigator v 1.5.2 has the correct reference. I have made enough theme customizations that I am trying to fix issues with the map labels in v1.4.1 before doing a client site update to the newest version of WP and latest version of the theme. ( I don't want to bill him for what should be a minor fix.)

Since the script does not appear on the page.php, single-post or archive.php files, do I need to insert this somewhere in archive.php, page.php, index.php, single.php?:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?v=3.13&sensor=false"></script>

If so, where??? I'm just not following where the changes are to be applied. As noted above, just changing it in header.php fixed everything in Safari on OSX, but in Chrome and Firefox, the category pages still display the black map labels when the page loads.

http://l64design.com/category/projects/commercial/

Thanks for your time in helping resolve this. My client is very happy with the site using your navigator theme. I know it was an unanticipated Google API change that caused the map marker display issues, rather than your brilliant coding.

Hi there,

The change I posted above needs to be applied to ALL template files for the theme.

I thought that I had this resolved. The pins appear as map markers on the home page; however, when I switch to a category map, the markers on those pages still display the black rollover boxes with post titles instead of the map pins. I know you are off for the weekend, but I still need to try to find other pages in the code where I need to change the reference to the google Maps API Version.

http://l64design.com renders correctly in all tested browsers

http://l64design.com/category/projects/residential/ renders correctly in Safari - shows black rollover labels in Firefox and Chrome on OS 10.8

http://l64design.com/category/projects/commercial/ renders correctly in Safari - shows black rollover labels in Firefox and Chrome on OS 10.8

Searched through lots of files and finally found the reference to the "maps.google.com/maps/api/js" line in header.php. It wasn't in line 19, though, at least in the 1.4.1 version of the Navigator theme. That seems to have fixed it. - Thanks
