Hi there,

I'm not sure what the galaxy tab is doing as I don't have one to test with, but the code is setup to go into "responsive" mode when there is not enough horizontal space (i.e. anything less than 1150px.).

You can try changing this value in the custom.js file on lines 425-436...

//////////////////
//RESPONSIVE FUNCTION
//////////////////
function responsive(){
	if(theWindow.width() < 1150){
 body.addClass('respond');
	} else {
 body.removeClass('respond');
 leftColumn.show();
 stickers.sticky('update');
	}
}

Hope that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

The desktop version shows on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Tablet no problem, works no problem and looks good. I understand if you are trying to use on a phone then yes that would be an issue. For our project we have made an iPad application that runs in landscape and as part of the application we use the browser embedded into the application to show online content (your site).

Its more difficult to use because you have to navigate by the way of the drop down menu. First its not intuitive, second you have to remember to use the menu to navigate (instead of clicking a button/link next to the content you are viewing and lastly the drop down menu covers the entire page but the menu items are as small as normal and only take up 1/5 of the left hand side of the entire page. Im not sure how that is easier to use?

I would ask again, is there anyway to just display the desktop version? As mentioned it works perfectly on a galaxy tab 8.9 which is slightly smaller than an iPad

Thanks
Clint

Hi there,

Those devices simply aren't wide enough to display the full site layout. Anything smaller than 1150px wide will not have enough horizontal space to fit both sidebars and the main content area as it is shown on larger displays.

Best,

HI Chris,

Is there anyway to disable that? I really want it to show in the iPad the way it shows on desktop. Even on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 it shows the menu on the LHS rather than a full page drop down.

This is really important for my project so any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks KIndly

Hi there,

That's normal. The menu is displaying in a mobile layout that's easy for users on smaller screens. In other words, that's how the menu is intended to display.

Hi there,

I didn't receive any emails. Maybe try taking a screenshot and uploading it here: http://postimage.org/

Keep in mind, changing the browser zoom level is not the same thing as a computers resolution/size. Zooming sites will create varying effects and doesn't properly represent what the code will do or how it will display on larger screens.

Best,

Chris

HI Chris

Cant see a place to upload images so I will send you an email. I just realized that on my 1920x1080 monitor I have Chrome set to 200% zoom (because of my laptops 2560x1440 resolution) when I reduce zoom to 150% or less the website does display correctly. IPAD Air is still an issue though. Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (Android) with Chrome does display correctly. So ironically its just the IPAD and that where i need it to run because we are accessing it through an application on IPADS....go figure. Please see email.

Thanks for the answers to the other questions as well, much appreciated.

Thanks
Clint

Hi there,

1. I'm not seeing any issues with the menu on the left hand side. What browser are you using? Can you provide screenshots?

2. I'm not seeing any issues here, either. The widgets appear for me like they should.

3. Add the following to your Custom CSS box on the Customize page...

#header {display: none;}

4. Add the following to your Custom CSS box on the Customize page...

body {background: none !important;}

Sorry Chris, I have just noticed that when I display the webiste on an Apple IPAD AIR IOS7.0 i have the issue outlined in question 1 and 2. The drop down menu covers the entire page. And the RHS widgets appear below and not to the right.

If I display the website on a 1920x1080 monitor the same issue.

If I display on my laptops native 2560x1440 screen there is no issue.

I really need it to display on the IPAD (like it does on 2560x1440)...........Im very surprised it doesnt display like that on 1920x1080?

HI Chris,

1. When using the menu drop down, the menu opens to cover my entire page (cover my entire site)
Q. How do i get the menu to stay open on the LHS of the page?

2. My Right Hand Column Widgets do not appear on the RHS. They appear under the main content. (The content takes up the entire full page)
Q. How do I get the site looking like your demo (im using your demo content) so that menu is on LHS, Content is in the middle and RHS widgets appear in the RHS?

3. Is there a way to completely remove the Header and the menu bar so that the web page starts at top of broswer? i.e the first things we see at the top of the webpage are the Latest, Favourites, Bookmarks icons and the page layout buttons

4. Is there a way to get the entire background to be transparent? The reason I ask is that I want to open this website/page in an Apple Application we are developing. The application has an existing background and we simply want to open the website/page over the existing background (my text will need to be white to be clearly seen and keep consistency with the rest of the app)

Thanks
Clint
