That's bizarre. Looks like that's the pagination for normal post category pages. Make sure that on the "reading" page, in the WordPress admin panel, you're not using a normal page as the home page or blog page.

How would I go about removing the page #s that show up on the main page? For example, the site I am setting up shows the following #s on the home page: 2, 3, 4, 5
