If you delete the image you don't want to use, this will not occur.

Hi there. I wasn't happy with with the autogenerated thumbnail for the featured slideshow of one of my posts and I create. So i created a 780x400 px image uploaded and wrote the link into the Thumbnail Image field. I am now happy with the thumbnail in the featured gallery but the same thumbnail image is also used in the portfolio gallery.

In the portfolio gallery unfortunately after clicking on the magnifier lens over the thumb image, a larger thumb image will pop up and not the image I placed in the post.

Is there a way I can fix this?
