Hi there,

At the time the theme was developed, there weren't any responsive lightbox options. I'm not sure there are a lot available even still. Since PrettyPhoto is something added to the theme, it can easily be removed if you want to try something else.

The Curator is not a fully responsive theme (just like PrettyPhoto). The theme (and PrettyPhoto) does some adjustments based on browser size, but it doesn't have a specific mobile layout, etc. I'm not sure what you think I'm hiding.

The demo is available for you to review before purchase, so I'm sorry if something wasn't clear or if you feel you were tricked. That's not my intent.

------------

To deactivate PrettyPhoto, open custom.js (in the "js" folder of the theme) and remove the following on lines 209-222...

////////////////
//PRETTYPHOTO
////////////////
jQuery("body.single .entry a[href$='jpg'],body.single .entry a[href$='png'],body.single .entry a[href$='gif'],body.page .entry a[href$='jpg'],body.page .entry a[href$='png'],body.page .entry a[href$='gif']").attr({rel: "prettyPhoto[gallery]"});
jQuery("a[rel^='prettyPhoto']").prettyPhoto({
	overlay_gallery: false,
	social_tools: '',
	deeplinking: false,
	default_width: 500,
	horizontal_padding: 0,
	opacity:".5",
	keyboard_shortcuts: false,
	show_title: false
});

As a result of the lack of responsive lightbox options out there, I've recently started making my own. It's still in beta, but if you want to try it, please message me from my profile on ThemeForest and I'll be happy to send you the zip. I built it as a WordPress plugin, so it is easy to install/activate.

Hi Chris,

this is now a very surprising 'reminder' - especially because it is not mentioned in your theme forest description at all. If this 'reminder' would have been clearly expressed in your item details, I could have asked about it before the purchase !
You don't even mention in the item details, that the PrettyPhoto script is used - so how shall I know this flaw/limitation before the purchase , that you are now 'reminding' me.
And probably you also assume,that a buyer of your theme knows about all the available lightbox scripts and their limitations.

The only two aspects regarding responsiveness in your item details are the following :
1. it is 'Semi-responsive' (now I know what you mean with that term) . Actually it means that you hide an important detail !
2. that it looks pretty on an iPad ... (which is then also only 'Semi-true').

Maybe you can imagine, how It is now a BIG surprise after all the work is finished. My client and I really liked, what we could do with your theme, but now we are really p***ed off. Maybe you can imagine, how critical an artist can be. "Imagine the Venus di Milo squeezed to square" ... was one of his comments !!

Neither do I know how to deactivate the PrettyPhoto script nor do I know, how to implement another fully responsive lightbox system.

Is there a way to alter some parameters in Pretty Photo ?

regards

Peter

Hi there,

Please keep in mind that PrettyPhoto is not a responsive lightbox system, so you may want to try other lightbox plugins to see if those perform better for you.

Let me know if you need help deactivating the PrettyPhoto script.

Best,

Hi Chris,

There is a picture format issue with iPad and iPad mini.
Please have a look at the galleries in http://martin.doyle.gallery/woodwork-take-two , http://martin.doyle.gallery/woodwork and http://martin.doyle.gallery/paintings .
Everywhere, where the picture is not clearly a landscape format, the pretty photo pop up squeezes it to a square-like picture.
Example : http://martin.doyle.gallery/0_WP/wp-content/uploads/P5.jpg and then check it in http://martin.doyle.gallery/paintings .

Where ever there is a clear portrait or landscape format, the pop up is fine. It's only about those, where the length/height ratio is close to a square.
