Here is, what am I trying to achieve(hope it is possible):

I set the static home page and a page for blog, using blog category. This all is clear for me. Here comes important: I set up, that every post FROM BLOG will have its own background, not a map. Main blog category contains 7 sub-categories also included into menu. I try to figure it out how to achieve to have a background on them instead of map.
You described it in one answer on comments page:

If you open up “script.php”, on line 49 you’ll see the following…
cat=-'.$blogCat.'

...if you change it to the following…
cat=-5,-'.$blogCat.'

...you’ll exclude category 5 from the map. Replace “5” with the ID of the category you want to exclude.

I was happy to find solution, however it is not working for me.
I find out my categories ID and put it there, so it looks like:
cat=-15,-16,-17,-'.$blogCat.' (hope I understand it correct)

In shortcut: My target is to filter posts using categories, showing it with background, not with the map.

The map page, with all post locations(as you have it in home page)I would like to have on another page which is not a blog.

I noticed, that on your demo site, you have different posts for blog and different posts for the map. It is possible to have same posts on the blog and on the map?
(On blog-posts with background; on Map-posts with locations map)
