So...I went through all 128 of my posts and added their latitude and longitude. On my initial map that shows all 128 posts across three categories they display fine. However, I have individual pages/maps for each category and they are only loading in a couple of them...2 in category #1, 7 in category #2, and 2 in category #3 --- one post is in all three categories, so it's only pulling up a total of 10 posts across the three category pages when it should be pulling up 128 like the main page. Do I need to remove the street address 1 and 2 from the options now that I have added lat/long or what is the fix?

I saw some other forum posts about updates to the version of the theme dropping posts. I made the update from 1.7.1 to 1.7.2 after I brought up the Chrome loading issue to you <http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/doesnt-load-in-chrome> but it was just the style.css and custom.js files that I updated ... would there need to be additional files replaced as well?

I did clear/reset browsers and tested on multiple computers include some that had never viewed the site and they all had the same issue.

Thank you very much Chris, very informative. Although I wanted to avoid it, this is an understandable solution to safeguard it, so I'll just plugin in the LAT/LONG for everything.

Hi there,

With the recent updates, the theme is using the Google lat/long API to generate the lat/long when not provided in the post custom fields. The API has a restriction on how many times it can be used/loaded: 2,500 requests per 24 hour period. For the average user this is sufficient. If you exceed the 24-hour limit, the Geocoding API may stop working for you temporarily.

In your case, my best suggestion is to use the lat/long custom fields to safeguard against that potential issue with limits using the Google API.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Chris

I hit the boards before posting this and found this long topic http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/all-posts-disappeared which sounds similar to mine, but I don;t think it's bad map data. I have 128 records and they were displaying fine and then suddenly it only showed 8. I did not add any new posts or adjust their data. As suggested in your response to the topic I linked above, I went in and put 20 posts in the trash (a full page in the cms) and then refreshed the front-end. I did this through all of the posts and still it didn't start loading the rest of the posts --- like it would have if one (or several) of the posts were the issue.

After some other troubleshooting I went in and added the LAT/LONG for some of the posts, as they all just had their two lines of addresses below. NOW, they are posting ... it's like it requires the LAT/LONG in order for it to show up int he map even though it was previously showing up fine with just the address.

So, at this point I know I could go in and add the LAT/LONG for my remaining 120 records, but that would be very time consuming and they already have addresses in their from each that was working previously. Any thoughts on how to fix this bug?
