Good news! WordPress added a "detach" option when you view your media gallery in "list" view...

...clicking detach will remove the image from the slideshow.

Hi there,

You're right. This must have changed in a recent update to WordPress. It appears "insert into post" attaches the images and adds it to the gallery.

I'll have to research this a bit before I can provide a definitive answer on whether or not you can add images without them appearing in the gallery.

I have images I want to post within the post and not inside the gallery. I follow the instuctions here ( http://www.themolitor.com/help/curator/#slideshow ), tried to go to Media, upload a new image (so I am not in edit post), and after it is uploaded - edit post. Insert media, select the image from uploaded files. Insert into post.

It then appears in the post, but it was also automatically added to the gallery. So it appears that it does not work as in your description. Or am i doing something wrong?
