ok.. i've made a little progress figuring this out.. the theme acts how I want it to when it is "zoomed out" otherwise changing the window size to a wider view crops the image. How can I have the theme permanently set to "zoomed out?"

ps - if you see another solution to my issue here i'm all ears :)

sorry for the multiple posts.. i'm just trying to get this thing right.

one last thing: to get a good thumbnail i've found that 900:669 works well, but then i the main image is majorly cropped.

One more thing: About the thumbnails I changed the ratio to 16:9. This helped but the thumbnail image remains distorted (the face looks long). if you go to my site you can see this. the thumbnail titled 16x9ratio looks off. I don't mean to be picky but i'm a photographer and I'd like my images displaying correctly in the thumbnails. thanks.

Hi there,

Regarding the menu, that is happening because you have too many items in the menu. Depending on your browser size/resolution, you might have more space in different environments, but there is a limitation to how many links you can display. It's recommended that you use a drop down menu to group links together.

Regarding the images, I'm not seeing any issues with the demo. You may notice that images are being adjusted to fit the space of the thumbnails, but otherwise nothing is wrong there. With the way the slider works, it's using a single image to display in both the thumbnail and the main section so as to cut down on loading times. You'll get better results if you make your images optimized for 16:9 as that is the dimension of the thumbnails as well as most monitors.

Hope that helps!

Chris

Hey Justin,

1) I seriously doubt it.. the site is not active and that menu item is there to remind me to put something in there (currently its just a menu item linking nowhere) any other ideas for getting it to look right in Firefox?

2) I'm still struggling with font compatibility in IE as i mentioned above.. The syncopate (default) font is the only font i've been able to get to work in IE.. i'm willing to work around using the google fonts if necessary.. Any ideas?

Joseph, do you have an SSL Certificate or anything else on your Client Login? Are you using a plugin for that?

I have a feeling deactivating that could fix the issue. Let me know if you're around this evening.

Thanks,

Oh I see..

A few questions,

1) Just out of curiosity what is the name of the default menu font for this theme?

2) How do I get a different font to show up in safari and explorer (will this require changing the code)?

3) Yes, google fonts was working at some point.. this is the thing, before (when it was working) I would put in the api link provided by google web fonts into the top field and it worked perfectly. Now this does nothing (it reverts back to times like it looks in explorer).. now the only way to change the font is to plug in the font keyword eg "helvetica" into the bottom field (mind you this only works for really mainstream fonts.. i've tried verdana, helvetica, and ariel.)

Hey Joseph,

Firefox - I'm not seeing any problems at all - what version are you in?

Explorer - That browser just doesn't support the custom fonts, this is normal activity for Explorers limitations.

I'm not sure what's up with Google Fonts, was it working at one point?
