Hi there,

The checkbox you're referring to controls the AJAX loading effect. When it's uncheck, the page refreshes each time. Since we already know the plus signs appear on a page refresh, this doesn't really tell us anything about why the plus signs are not loading when accessed via AJAX page loading.

Regarding the 'control' you mentioned, I didn't actually see any issues with their plus signs not showing up. They appear to be loading just fine.

All that considered, if you're not going to use the audio feature you really don't need to use the AJAX feature of the theme (it was implemented mainly for continuous audio throughout the site).

Let me know if that works.

Best,

Christopher

ok, tried with "Run after AJAX" unchecked, and there we go - and bang, here are the plus signs!

So there seems to be a weird compatibility issue between AJAX and customs.js. I will see if I can remove the snippet again and just run the site without AJAX.

Thanks again.
Franca

Dear Christopher,

thanks for the reply. Tried as suggested,but no luck: plus sign still doesn't load

Just to make sure we are on the same page: I inserted the code snippet on the jQuery customization page, "Run after AJAX" checked. Correct?

jQuery(document).ajaxComplete(function() {
bodyCheck();
runReviews();
runHeader();postOverflowCheck();

Thanks

Hi there,

Try adding the following in the JavaScript box on the Customize page...

postOverflowCheck();

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

ok, this is the absolute last message for today, I swear!

another strange behavior just noticed:
If I open freshly Firefox and go to the page in question (http://chiseminaraccoglie-film.it/category/protagonisti/), it loads CORRECTLY, with plus sign and all!
If I load the page through the menu, coming form another page on the site, it does NOT load the scroll-notice plus sign.

Same behavior on the "control site": http://www.varisnoktasi.com/

I am really at a loss here, but I suspect it is some java problem that it doesn't register the overflowing.
Hope that helps to find a solution.

Cheers,
Franca

again me, sorry: just checked out some of the sites presented here in "Show off", as well as your demo site: one of them shows the same behavior, all others don't:
http://www.varisnoktasi.com/category/ekip/ -> same problem with plus sign in "Cast & Crew" section, even though only on some persons (i.e. Mehment Konak, second from left). On reloading the page also Mehmet gets his plus sign. That is really weird!

I quickly checked the custom.js that seems to control the scroll-notice plus sign appearing, but don't see any difference in the file version I use to others. That said, I don't know nothing about javascript

I am a loss here, but looking very much forward to getting a solution form you.

Cheers,
Franca

Dear Christopher,

thanks for the swift reply. Unfortunately this does not do the trick.
- Firefox: I tried in safe mode, all extensions disabled. There is no way to disable plugins (such as Flash etc) unless you uninstall them. And frankly, this is asking a little too much from users visiting your site
- Safari: I wouldn't even know that you can install extensions...

Besides: I have no idea how you "scroll the content": If I try to scroll (with mouse or touchpad), all that comes up is the footer, not the additional content of a single aside format post. Can you please explain me how you scroll the content?

Edit: tried on several computers, same result

Thanks
Franca

Hi there,

Just to let you know, the plus sign is just to let users know there is additional content. They don't need to click the plus sign in order to scroll the content. It's just an added little thing to help.

That said, I do see the issue you're referring to about the plus sign not showing when it should. I haven't seen this happen before, so I'm thinking it might have to do with a plugin you're using.

To test this, please deactivate your plugins one-by-one and check to see if it has any impact on the plus signs.

Let me know. Here to help.

Best,

Christopher

Hi,

I have a problem with the "Plus" sign for more text not showing on a "Cast & Crews" page, i.e. category page with "aside format" posts, i.e. additional text is not readable

Firefox (v. 46.0.1) not showing, when refreshing page: showing
Safari (v. 9.0.2): not showing, even after refreshing page
Google Chrome (v 50): OK
IE (v. 11): working

Please check page here: http://chiseminaraccoglie-film.it/category/protagonisti/

Category page with video post format works: there Plus sign appears.

Thanks for looking into this problem.
Franca
