The menu text can be different than the page title text by editing the menu label on the menus page. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Chris,

More questions on this. I can't find an excerpt field to set on the page such that the first few lines of the page displays on the RHS, (with the menus on the LHS). I've seen that I could add an excerpt plugin. Isn't there one already included in The Contractor? If not, which one should I use?

Hi Chris,

That does help, thank you. If I can say it back to you to check that I've got it. The RHS (right hand side) can display either pages or categories. To get the text from the page to display on the RHS I have to set an 'excerpt' field somewhere?

On your version of The Contractor, the title displayed on the RHS is different to that clicked in Menu 1 on the LHS (left hand side) - how have you done this?

Hi there,

If by "RHS" you're referring to the right-side of the menu items, that's the title/excerpt of the page. For category pages, the text below the title is controlled from the “description” field of the category.

The content in the area underneath the menu/title depends on the page you're viewing. If it's a page, it will display the page content. If it's a category, it displays the posts assigned to that category, etc.

The LHS displays the three menus. Is the RHS a category? Is the area underneath pages or posts?
