Okay, sorry, found it. The small width is the standard (sorry for not checking. I'm an idiot). And I can make the black area in the blog wider by changing the width under MAIN in the stylesheet. That will display all images without distortion. Problem solved.

Did any one here have this problem before that you place flickr images as embed links into an article page, and it makes the text display module (that black thing on the left holding the text) suddenly 200 px less wide, and the images get squished to the width of a vertical image?. Example: http://petraquilitz.com/?p=3874 Didn't chang the width of the element in CSS.
