Hi there,

Using "
mysite.com/?menu=slug
" only works for items on the home page main menu. If you want to direct users to a "hidden" page, then you'll want to use the "
mysite.com/slug
" approach.

If you provide a link to the actual page you're trying to create, I'll be happy to take a look.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

If I visit an traditional page URL I only see the footer.

I want to setup a "hidden" form that users will access via a link in an email I am happy to use either the http://mysite.com/slug/ format or http://mysite.com/?menu=slug but right now if I go to either I don't see my page.

The page isn't part of the main menu is that why even the /?menu=slug form doesn't work (it just shows me the deafult home page).

Adrian

Hi there,

Without implementing a custom script specifically for your site, a redirect is the only method to direct people to a specific section of the page using a pretty URL.

Best,

Hi Chris,

This makes sense. Is there a way to make the links prettier? For example, for our wedding invite we'd like to have marybethandjay.com/RSVP listed on the card. I know I can do a redirect, but it would be nice to have pretty permalinks for all sections.

Hi there,

MISC is a one page theme. As a result, it uses the URL to determine which parts of the page are "active". Clicking links on the home page doesn't take you to a different page/URL, it simply displays that content on the home page since it's already loaded there.

Changing the permalinks in the dashboard only applies when you're viewing an individual post/page URL. Not the home page.

Hope that makes sense.

Best,

Chris

I've set the permalink settings to 'Post Name' and the blog post are correct. (e.g. http://marybethandjay.com/life-is-what-happens-while-you-are-busy-making-other-plans/)

However, the permalink structure for the rest of the site is still set to 'Default' (e.g. http://marybethandjay.com/?menu=proposal-video&panel=1)

I'm not using any plugins that could interfere. How can I set the entire site to a more SEO friendly permalink.
(e.g. http://marybethandjay.com/proposal-video)

Site is http://marybethandjay.com

My htaccess file looks like this:

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
