Go to Appearance > Theme Options > General > Custom CSS (optional) and enter:

#main {width:600px; }

Give that a shot and see if it does what you need. If it doesn't, or it doesn't work properly, simply remove the code from there and save.

As for the search feature, that's using Wordpress' default search, so without modification it's going to work as you see it in the demo.

Could you help me, looking to increase the width of the box for posts and pages, make them double the size they are as standard.

Plus - the search box finds the title of the posts, but is their any way it can search the postcodes of posts I make?
