I'm not sure about the plugin you're using (my support services do not cover troubleshooting plugin issues), but I created my own overlay plugin called ZoomBox.

It automatically turns any image link into a pop-up overlay. You can grab the latest copy here:

All you need to do is use a text widget to add image link markup to your sidebar.

Hi Chris,

i want to implement images in the side widget area. Now i have two plugins for this and they won't really want to work like i want it. :/
got a plugin to show pictures in an overlay when you click on them- simply gallery. i want this as well in the sidebar with single images. when i just copy the code from the content area where the overlay works in the widget area, the overlay won't work anymore. how can i do this?
