That is a category page layout, which is intended to allow users to view specific post pages. Unfortunately changing the behavior of that page is not a quick edit as it requires a bit of research and custom code to implement. Not to mention development time needed to come up with a system that allows you to choose which items are altered.

Might I suggest using the fullscreen layout for that category? You can change it to fullscreen from the customize page. Just check the box for the associated category to make it fullscreen (no direct link to post).

To remove the background image from your custom video, try adding the following to your Custom CSS box on the Customize page...

.singleVid {
    background-size: 0%;
}

Ok Christ, sorry but I have more. I tested a 16:9 video (all videos from self contained server videos. with an image with same dimensions like yours for feature image and still the appears the top and bottom portion of the image behind the video.

So is not a a video format issue, Don't know if I'm doing something wrong. Anyways as I mentioned before, If I can rid of this option to go to the specific link of the post the problem would be fixed.
I also noticed That if you don't have the feature image, then you can't either play the video or link to the specific post. So I hope you can give a solution to this.

Dear Christ. Please help me with this.

1.- I tested the page with a filmmaker friend. And unfortunately when he click the center play button in the videos from the videos 2 page, he didn't hit the play button area exactly. He just hit the rest of the feature image area so he was taken to the specific video post. That is a big problem for me. I don't want to take people to that specific post with comments and details because the video in that link shows small until you ask for full screen. There is a way to eliminate the link to the specific post with comments, tags, etc, ? or at least to make the play button set the whole feature image?
in other words just to use this carousel as videos no like posts with direct links to individual pages?

also in those specific video post links there is another problem for those like me with different video formats :

2.- I have videos in a non regular 16:9 format. Instead they are 2:35 that is very wide and small height. Your setting is for videos 16:9 So when I play my videos 2:35 the rest of the 16:9 area shows the feature image on top and bottom. Thats very awkward. It is possible to change this to set to black the background while playing the video? If not that obligues me to reconfigure every video to 16:9 (black bars or output blanking) to hide the visible portion of the feature image.
