What I am trying to achieve is to have all posts show up on a blog page regardless.
For featured which will appear on the slider, I am adding a second category "featured". All my featured posts have 2 categories (blog and featured), and the "featured" category is taking precedence, and negating the "blog category". This means the word press is only recognizing the featured category, and sticking the post under that category.

If I click on my blog page, the post is no longer there.
If I click on the post in the slider, I am taking to a version of the post under the "featured" category.

As I said above, If I put both categories, and make the post "sticky", only then does the post show up in the blog AND the slider.
The only downside to this is it sticks the post to the top of the blog, which is out of intended order.

Just trying to find a way to be able to post something to the blog, and have it also (if i so choose), for it to also appear in the slider.

Nope. That didnt work either. The only thing I was able to get it working with is by making it a sticky post. The only problem which arises, is by making it a sticky, it puts the post out of sequence.

Any ideas? Am I approaching this in an incorrect manner?

Thanks again,

Have you tried customizing the link of the featured posts to link to the blog posts? There is a custom field on post pages where you can customize the link for the slider. Check that out and let me know if that helps you do what you want...

Trying to figure out the blog aspect of this template. So far, I have determined the following:

1) Assign category "Blog" for example to be where all posts default to.
2) Assign page "Blog" to receive all posts which contain the category "Blog" assigned to them.
3) Assign category "Featured" to front page slider, so only posts which have category "featured" will display on front slider.
4) Here is where I am lost...

I have 2 categories , "blog" and "featured". All posts are assigned "blog" category, and go to the sites blog.
ONLY the posts I want to be "featured" I assign a second category "featured", so that the post will be accessible on the blog page, as well as be visible on the home page slider.

The problem I am running into, is that any post in the slider which is selected (click on by user) directs the user to the post assigned to the "featured" category. I mean this makes sense to me, but not what I want to happen. I want to be able to assign selected posts to slider, while making sure all posts (including featured slider posts) are all filed under the "blog" category.

Any idea how to remedy this? Is there a better way to approach this?

Cheers,

Anthony
