Hi there,

If they are having script conflicts, then that is 100% between WordPress and the plugin as the theme doesn't have any control over the version of jQuery being used. Standard best practice is to grab the version already included/used by WordPress. Unfortunately I don't have the bandwidth to troubleshoot plugin issues, so I can only suggest you seek support from the plugin developer.

Also, keep in mind that this theme uses AJAX, which is a pretty complicated scripting method for grabbing content. Some plugins don't jive well with AJAX, so that's something to consider.

Lastly, have you tried simply grabbing the embed codes provided by Google maps? That would be a better approach than using a plugin IMO.

Regarding scrolling, I noticed the background image you're using is extremely large (i.e. very tall and wide) REF: http://rintex.ca/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/BlueprintGraphic12.jpg

You don't need your background images to be that large. This is likely the reason you're experiencing the issues you're reporting. Try using a 1440x1000 to see if that helps any.

I think what's happening is the javascript engine is having memory overload trying to animate an image that large.

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

I do not no what is the problem then, I tried 4 different maps plugins ! non of them displayed correctly (some did not display at all) I disabled all the plugins too with no effect. There is definitely problem with the theme in this regard. I end up with just a link to the full map.
With regard to scroll your sample site does exactly same thing like mine. Excellent in Firefox so so in Chrome and Explorer. I render my images in Adobe Fireworks. Only first logo image is .png(32) because of the background otherwise all is .jpg in 80 % quality. I suggest you try it in Firefox and chrome and will see the difference.

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi there,

To clarify, you have version 1.10.0, not 1.1.0.

The version of jQuery is controlled by WordPress, not the theme.

I see the error message says "Your blog/site theme or one of your plugins uses jQuery javascript library which is older than the version 1.3.0. The Comprehensive Google Map plugin will not work with such outdated jQuery version."

Couple things...

1. It's possible the version number issue is caused by another plugin as mentioned in the alert message.
2. This isn't a theme issue. As a result, I'm not able to provide support for errors caused by plugins.

Regarding browsers, I'm not able to recreate any scrolling issues, so it may have to do with the weight of content on your site. Have you tried optimizing your images? You can optimize images using various online tools:

ISSUE #2 Scrolling

I am using Chrome Version 25.0.1364.172 m , If you scroll the blue area with picture up and down you got to see the difference between chrome and Firefox. In Chrome and Explorer the photo jumps little be up down as you scroll. The site look much more professional in Firefox.

Hi there,

I visited your site and see that you have version 1.10 of jQuery being used, not 1.3. This theme uses the version of jQuery your WordPress installation uses, so I'm not sure why you're getting a message about 1.3.

Regarding the scrolling, it seems to scroll just fine in Chrome. Are you using the latest versions of your browsers?

Let me know.

Best,

Chris
