I also created a "Full width" post template and I do the same for my posts. This way the images are large enough to view on the computer and easy to view on a tablet.

I am trying to create a blog that is easy to navigate with all mobile machines.

On the iPad the Lightbox effect is pretty good but can be also a bit slow. On the Android it is awful. On the phone I use a plugin that covert my blog to a phone blog (quite neat) so I am not worried about it that much. However, importing the files without the lightbox effect does make the page (post or page) much faster to load.

The thing is that it is a nice effect on the computer. Maybe I will create a second blog in a sub-directory called tablet and find a code that recognizes the device the page/post is viewed and redirects it to the modified "full width" template.

One thing that I would love to disable when viewing with tablets is the sidebar. It does not work well at all with the Android browsers and works semi-OK with iPads. Some widgets will not work with either.

Any magic code to input that can recognize the device the blog is being viewed with and disable the sidebar? :-)

It's getting out of hand all the things we have to worry about so our clients can access their photos anywhere :-(.
