Well, I guess I figured it out. I had to go in and manually set the logo, background, etc. I was thinking the the default configuration would have placed those images for me, but maybe not?

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the theme and have no plugins turned on. For some reason no images are showing up. The only way I was able to get the page to center was by turning off the search widget. Am I missing something?
