It doesn't appear that we're using a child theme. This is the top few lines of style.css from our active theme:

Gotcha. That's too bad.

If you open the active theme's style.css file, in the top section comments would be something like this...

Template: eventure

If you see that, that means you're using a child theme.

It wasn't me who did the customizing, and he's sadly no longer a part of our organization. I know nothing about child themes - is there a way to find out if that's what he did?

Hi there,

When making customizations, it's best practice to use a child theme. This way you don't have to edit core template files for your changes.

If you're able to use the latest version, please let me know and I'll be happy to review any issues.

I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that's going to be possible, as there were significant customisations made to the theme before the site went live. We're now developing/staging a newer site using a different theme, and to go through all of that code for the changes to a site we're replacing seems... inefficient.

I will make sure to download the new version of the theme anyway. Thanks for the help, even if it didn't pan out. :\

v1.1 is a very outdated version of the theme. I HIGHLY recommend updating. Please review this thread for more info about updating: http://www.themolitor.com/forums/topic/faq-how-do-i-update-my-theme

This just recently started, within the last month.

When I create a new post, the following text shows up pre-filled in the Custom Post Options meta box, in three different fields. I can remove it each and every time I post, but that will soon become tiresome and is not a fix.

I'm using v1.1 of Politico, and 4.22 WordPress on a self-hosted site that has been working fine for four years (www.greygeckopress.com).
