I tried using another plugin and it wouldn't work. It seems something (coding) in the theme caused the other Captcha plugin to fail with Contact Form 7. I installed this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-spamshield/ and so far, no spam. It's been a week since I added it. I'm hoping it lasts. Maybe it will work for you and some others in need of the same thing.

Hi there,

Just to clarify, it's not *my* contact form.

I'm pretty sure Akismet works with the Contact Form 7 plugin.

Please keep in mind, spam is not a theme issue, so that's not something I can actively provide support for.

akismet doesn't work with contact forms - we need some way of getting a captcha on your default contact form --i am getting 1000s of spam emails right now

Hey there,

Do you know if there is a way to get some sort of captcha type function onto the contact form? Right now, anyone or any bot can email us from the site. I need some security measure to prevent this. Just like you have here below with the "100 + four =" function.
