Le Maitre 'd currently supports a menu on the home page that pulls in all the categories/posts under the main menu category you create.

Making this menu feature work on separate pages with different/specific categories would require a customization request as that is not a built-in feature and would require extra research, code and testing to implement.

Has anything come of this? Would love a dinner and lunch menu option and thought that creating a new page and categories for "lunch" would do it but I guess not, it just shows the "dinner" menu

For example, one page for a standard menu and another for daily specials or weekly specials?
