Yeah, coding the site yourself might be easier, but it still has its drawbacks, though. The main one being security, which is why I will always use WordPress for my projects (they really rock 'n roll in this category).

Best,

yep i saw RIVYT, very nice concept, hope it will rock and that you ll have many users...but as i told you, i don't have any video content to share, its not the kind of feature that i need ;)

Yeah wordpress is too bloated ,and you don't have a full control of everything, and for a cms, finally, you have at the end to learn almost the same stuff as coding a full website in html. I feel it like this.
(when you choose a cms, its because you DON'T want to learn that or don't have any time for this.)
Maybe i m wrong, and if i try something else, i ll run back to wordpress...

Finally i ve got the impression that i lost a precious time, i could learn with open-classroom how to make a website in html with notepad. I have bet on a cms to get more time and be more "relax", but in fact, with updates, issues, compatibility, maintenanace, partial control and always ******* bugs with 50% of updates...i don't know...

Perhaps later wordpress or an other cms will be perfect, easy as paint, stable and fully customisable
Perhaps later everybody will have perfect knowledge of html/php/css basics ans will run websites easy as pie

futur is always misty...

Yeah, I totally understand. WordPress definitely has become too bloated for most users.

I'm trying to simplify the process of "creating a website" with RIVYT, but that's currently only geared towards YouTube users with mostly video content.

Best,

Oh ok i see, i didnt know...
I ll check for the futur what can i insert or not with the editor option of wordpress !

After years, i understand slowly that one day, even with wordpress, i will have to learn all the bases of html.... but i didn't wanted that, with a cms.

Day by day also i feel frustrated and inconfortable with wordpress

Maybe some others ways to build a website are better finally...i 'll see that in the futur.

thanks for all !

best,

Yeah, tables are not meant for layout/design. They are only meant for data. You can find numerous discussions on this topic. Here's the first one I found doing a google search:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/83073/why-not-use-tables-for-layout-in-html

Hi Chris,

To be honest i don't understand or don't agree with your first paragraph : The table i used is in the wordpress editor is very (very) basic and common.
It's not, for me , a special feature.... Are you sure that this is out of what the theme has to make responsive?

Sorry to insist

This week end i will remove it and rebuild those pages but need to know more, hope you understand.

best,

Hi there,

You appear to be using tables or some other additional markup to contain your content. This is why the layout is breaking on phones. For example, the "paintbrush" image is sitting inside an HTML table, which is not setup for mobile responsiveness.

Unfortunately I'm not able to troubleshoot custom markup/html like this as it goes outside the scope of my support services. I recommend removing table-based markup and try using standard HTML layout methods when customizing your designs and content.

After addressing these markup issues, please let me know if any issues persist.

Best,

Christopher

Hi Chris,

Hope your doing well.

I realize unfortunately that there ar many bugs and responsivity issue on small device like :

apple iphone
android phone

(many in portrait mode, maybe normal i don't know but also in landscape mode ...)

-when you open the link you see during one second the menu bar in normal big screen and the first panel hugely cropped, then your small panel with the white menu bar on top appears.

-some panels are cropped on the right or left, text and png are "out of vision"

-some borders appears arround pics or thumnails on the left, on the top, on teh bottom.

-when you navigate "horizontaly", there are bugs : difficulty to the next page to load.

-some css put in wordpress dashboard doesn't appears on small device (for me background of post for example and align center for the form)

-some panels with content align apears desorganized on this small devices (exemple : 4 pictures well aligned in a page in computer, we obtain two pics align only and two other pics desorganized on phone)

-text in page is really cropped or desorganize.

Thanks to look at it .
