Does the above apply to the Navigator theme as well. I am in development on this site (geospatialinfo.ca) and on the post called OASISS I wanted the logo to be nested in front of the details. I've tried both methods of accessing the image as per the discussion above but either way it always gets included in the gallery for this post. If possible I would rather it not be displayed there.

1. To remove images that are already uploaded/attached to the post, you need to delete them. If you want to use images in the post - but not have them appear in the gallery - you need to upload images from the media page (not the post edit screen) so that they don't get attached to a specific post.

2. That's correct. Granted, there are benefits/drawbacks to every method. The vast majority of users do not reuse images for individual post galleries, so this would be the easiest approach for creating a gallery. Even still, the current system may still be quicker than having to navigate the library for images you want to use, selecting/assigning them and then managing the gallery settings manually for every post you create.

It did work, thanks!
I uploaded the images directly from the insert media dialogue from the post. It inserts the images in the post and they appear in the gallery.
I then deleted them from the post and they stayed in the gallery. Although a little more work, that's the result I wanted.

Hi there,

The gallery tab is created based on images you have uploaded/attached to the post. If you uploaded images from the media page (not the post edit page), they will not be attached to the post. You have to upload the images from the post edit screen for the post you want the images to appear on.

Regarding the content area, make sure your images links to the image file (i.e. link should end with .jpg, .png or .gif).

All of a sudden I feel rather stupid because I thought this was going to be a lot easier.

In an event page, the gallery tab shows only the featured image. I added images to the post itself but they don't get added to the gallery. How do I do it?

Also I don't seem to be able to have images in the content part of the event open with the lightbox like the featured image.

Sorry, I think I knew but not anymore I guess.
