Category.php is not required. "archive.php" is the default for almost all template files in WordPres ( reference: http://tinyurl.com/5gmzdk ).

Since a post is still showing up, it means either your posts isn't published or something is wrong with it. Try creating a new post and seeing if it shows up in the "articles" category.

Here's an example:
http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/3558/categories.jpg shows all my current Categories. I will be viewing the "Articles" category to show how this isn't working. If you notice the category "Articles" has 2 posts in it.

Here's what it looks like when I click on the "Articles" category from the main page:
http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/8043/intocategory.jpg

As you can see only one of the 2 posts are showing up in this section instead of both posts that the previous image shown was 2.

I'm looking in wp-content/themes/wpchurch but cannot locate a category.php which is required to be there by the folks at WordPress. I've also looked in every directory and cannot locate category.php so it does seem as if it's missing.

I'm no expert on WP or anything of the sorts but if the folks that created WordPress tells me "paste me the contents of your category.php" when helping me with this issue and I cannot locate it, I'm only left to assume it's missing.

Thanks!

I can assure you nothing is missing.

Try using an actual name as "Category" is sometimes used for certain things in the URL.

If you provide a link I can take a closer look.

Hi,

I created a category called "Category" and assigned 7 Blog Posts to it.

When I attempt to view this "Category" only 1 of my Blog Posts show. I had spoken with the developers/support staff of WordPress and they stated the theme does not follow proper WordPress standards by leaving important files such as these out.

They have referred me back to you for support. Can you please advise on how to fix this issue? I have a production site that's 100% offline at the moment due to this issue.

Thanks!
