We are also having a problem with the map on our end - the map is visible on pages but not on the main URL of the homepage.

Is there a fix for this? Support would be greatly appreciated! Our URL is: http://iliveliteracy.org

Thank you.

dpzee - NICE site. Would you be able to let me know how you got your slider to work? I think I need to upload something to do that, but not sure what and to where. Any suggestions?

dpzee, you're right it seems like a lot of people have this same problem from reading the WP forums. I'll have to mess around with that and see what I can do. I definitely want to change those permalinks. Thanks for the help.

cbo - you have an issue with your .htaccess file in your root folder. don't ask me what that means, but it's happened to me (and to a lot of people). there are a few solutions, which you will find by doing a search for "permalinks 404". read a few of them and see if they make sense. basically, the idea is to allow that file to be rewritten so that the permalinks can change. wish i had an easy answer, but it's all witchcraft to me.

@The Molitor thanks for the reply. I guess putting that in all caps still didn't sink in haha but I just reinstalled only the wpaid file so thank you, it works now

@dpzee Thanks for the tip, but for whatever reason when I switch to any other permalink it is leading to a 404. Any ideas why this is happening? The only one that doesn't lead to a 404 is the http://run4haiti.org/?page_id=8 setting. Not sure what the problem is here.

@cbo22j You uploaded/installed the theme incorrectly. You're not suppose to upload the file named "DO NOT UPLOAD THIS FILE TO WP".

For more info on installing correctly, please watch this video: http://wiki.envato.com/buying/support-buying/solving-broken-theme-issues/

just another user here...

make sure you have the proper image file in the proper place:
wp-content/themes/wpaid/images/map.png
on the site i used this theme for, i swapped the map for another image (a skyline of jerusalem) harhazeisim.org.

also, let me suggest that you change your permalinks (settings/permalinks form the dashboard) to custom and use the string "/%postname%" without the quotes. then, your users will get pages called http://run4haiti.org/about instead of http://run4haiti.org/?page_id=8. see http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks for more info.

First off, great theme.

I may be missing something very simple here but the map background seen in the live demo is not appearing in my site, run4haiti.org. I see in the theme options there is a check box for map on and it is checked. Anything I am missing?
Thanks
