Sounds good. Yes, themes generally work fine with Plugins. Keep in mind that anyone can create a Plugin (literally, anyone), and that's not to say that everyone keeps them up to date. Often time it's not the Plugin or Themes fault, its merely a conflict in JavaScript libraries, etc... at least in my experience.

Good luck,
Justin

We have already started trouble shooting this way. I have a little bit more to go. Themes are supposed to accept plugins, thats what WP is about. Although, i can understand, the theme cannot accept all it should be rather compatible. I have talked to the host as we restoring from backup and they are seeing no issues there.

As I mentioned I created and tested the theme for a week, then handed it over to the client with no issues for 1.5months. Let me try a new install and see what happens. Hopefully we can iron it out in the near future.....

I certainly understand your frustration. Putting yourself in our shoes, we hand over 100% proper Wordpress Themes. Of course we don't want people editing the theme files, because that automatically takes negates our terms. If you set them up as per the Help file and Video Walk-Through it will function just like the demo.

With that out of the way, you should begin with deactivating your plugins one by one. Then, go ahead and add one test Text Widget (name it Test). If deactivating your Plugins doesn't work right off the bat, leave them uninstalled and then remove the theme completely, and re-upload it via FTP.

I can assure you that barring any hosting issues, if you upload a fresh theme to a proper install of Wordpress, and go through the necessary steps to set it up the Theme will function as advertised. As you add 3rd party plugins you increase the chance of something breaking - obviously we cannot account for 3rd party development.

Let me know if any of those options work. I'd be willing to bet it's one of the plugins.

Thanks,
Justin

The home page is named events. The entire layout was fine when handed over. I never had widgets? They actually messed with the layout when added more than calendar etc... There seems to be a column missing? I contacted one if my back end developers and this is what he said:

I did a little bit of research on the template in question for your client, and I was able to find that WordPress is not generating the "ListingContainer" wrapper for the right column of information. In actuality, it's not really generating a right column at all. The song list nicely displays in the area, but it's more of an off shoot to the main section than it's own right column.

When asking him how much to fix he mentioned:

It seems the original theme creator is a bit protective of their code, so I'm building in some extra time just in case they've made things extremely difficult in the Admin area.

I just want to get things sorted out. I spoke to the client and he he no knowledge of how to change things further than a simple post add. I was up and running fine for 1.5 months and suddenly I am missing major areas of the site? We restored from backup and file and we seem to get the same problems?

Not knocking the theme, I am just trying to get it fixed!

It looks like a couple things are going on:

1) There are no Posts assigned to the homepage
2) You have no Widgets for the homepage and/or the Widgets don't have titles.

I'll be online tonight, feel free to get back to me quickly as we work together to fix this.

Well restoring from backup from the day I gave it to him is still yielding the same results which is mind boggling? Its seems stretches of code have somehow disappeared and the main slider and the excerpt area have disappeared? I have not played with any code and neither has he its just been simple basics. I did add a few plugins but again, they were working fine for weeks so I don't see how there would suddenly be a conflict? Please take a look at the site and get back to me as soon as you can.

If it was working before I highly doubt it has anything to do with the theme. Sounds like a Wordpress and / or a Hosting problem. Please send a look at your site and i'll review. Somebody had to have done something.

There is something def happening with the theme here. Even when I post a event and change the date to make it the most recent event so it should appear first on the home page the old image remains. In a big bind here! Hope to hear from you soon. I have checked all of the theme options and setting and nothing is different then when I handed the site over. Please advise.....

Hello,

I created a full website for a client and handed it over working just fine. Recently the area for the excerpts has disappeared along with the slider for the main fliers or "events". We can seem to figure it out. We have even restored the site from backups to the date that I handed oner the site working just fine and continue to have the same problem. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
