Hi All,

I was able to get the logo to work by doing the following:

1. Changing the image type to .png
2. Uploading using the theme options>select from computer
- Setting the image size exactly to the size that fit the header div tag 269px x 59px
- In the file url options set the Url portion to File URL
3. Save to option tree

that how I got mine to work.

Did you try this? "Hey there, I'm no expert but I had problems trying to upload the logo too and it didn't seem to work until I made the logo a png file. I also had the set the 'Full URL path to files' wrong under 'settings' > 'media'. Not sure if this will help!"

As for your hosting partner... this is not ideal. Nothing in the theme that is requested would cause a security breach. You may want to consider other hosting providers!

Good luck,
Justin

Hi I also contacted my service provider they also told me they can't activate the "allow_url_fopen" because it will compromise the "stability" of the server. They did not suggest anything wondering how the fix they suggested worked for you and if it did how did you apply it?

Kinda pulling my hair out...lol

That's ok, really I am no expert I have just been learning too and coming across these same problems that take forever to resolve.

I left the 'full URL path to files' bit blank. For the 'Store uploads in this folder' field the Default is wp-content/uploads so maybe just check when you upload a file it stores properly into this folder?

I have also found these forums really helpful. http://wordpress.org/support/

And also join Linked In and asked questions on the 'wordpress experts group'.

If the file doesn't 'look right' it could be just the format? I tried a few different ones and they seemed to look different.

I have also found that sometimes the host has told me things that turn out to be wrong.

Hopefully the Theme developer might be able to help you more though :)

What exactly did you put on the 'Full URL path to files' box in the media settings? How did you set this up?
Once I do that, Im going to try uploading my png file.

Thank's again :)

I'm having trouble uploading a logo in the theme editor, it won't appear as it should. I read your entry about "Logo Problems" and I contacted my hosting provider, they told me they can't activate the "allow_url_fopen" because it will compromise the "stability" of the server. Instead, they suggested another alternative to the "allow_url_fopen" function, wich is:

function get_remote_file($url, $timeout = 20){
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);
curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, $timeout);
$file_contents = curl_exec($ch);
curl_close($ch);
return ($file_contents) ? $file_contents : FALSE;
}

I need help because I don't know if this work's at all and I don't know where to place this code to activate this alternative function.
Since they can't open for me the "allow_url_fopen" function, I need a solution because the site I'm building isn't complete without the logo. You make it seem so easy to place un the tutorials but I'm desperate because It's not working. I know this isn't a theme issue but please, I need to place that logo! Help!
