Hi there,

Customizing the map is actually very easy. Using snazzy maps, all you need is the "Javascript style array" markup.

Once you have that ready to go, open "location-script.php" and locate the "var stylez" stuff on lines 78-175.

Simply replace the markup there. For example, if you wanted to use the "Pale Dawn" style, it would look like this...

var stylez = [{"featureType":"water","stylers":[{"visibility":"on"},{"color":"#acbcc9"}]},{"featureType":"landscape","stylers":[{"color":"#f2e5d4"}]},{"featureType":"road.highway","elementType":"geometry","stylers":[{"color":"#c5c6c6"}]},{"featureType":"road.arterial","elementType":"geometry","stylers":[{"color":"#e4d7c6"}]},{"featureType":"road.local","elementType":"geometry","stylers":[{"color":"#fbfaf7"}]},{"featureType":"poi.park","elementType":"geometry","stylers":[{"color":"#c5dac6"}]},{"featureType":"administrative","stylers":[{"visibility":"on"},{"lightness":33}]},{"featureType":"road"},{"featureType":"poi.park","elementType":"labels","stylers":[{"visibility":"on"},{"lightness":20}]},{},{"featureType":"road","stylers":[{"lightness":20}]}];

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Sure, I've rated the theme a few days ago :)

Btw, would it be possible to add a map skin from snazzy maps to the theme? If so, could you give us some tips on where to start?

Thank you!

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your feedback, the location map works fine now (like it did before, haha)! I forgot to take out a few pinpoints from the sample content. Right now all pinpoints are in Amsterdam, and everything works fine.

Hi there,

Glad you're enjoying the theme! :-)

1. The map automatically zooms based on the pins you have on the map. So if all your pins are in Amsterdam, the map should focus in on those pins to make sure they are all in view. Is that not happening?

2. The location field doesn't require you to enter lat/long data. You can enter detailed addresses (i.e. 421 100th street, Some Place ST) or very simple address info (i.e. Some City Name). That said, in order for pins to be placed on the map, we have to convert that information into lat/long data.

3. As mentioned above, you can be as specific with the location information as you like (i.e. detailed address or simple address).

Let me know if that helps.

Best,

Chris

Hi there!

First of all, what an absolutely lovely theme! We've picked the Contractor theme for our small real estate agency.

Yet I've got a few questions concerning the location map, hopefully one of you will be able to give me some useful tips. I'm hoping to do the following:

1. As all my pinpoints are located in Amsterdam, I would like to put the zoom on Amsterdam as a default setting

2. I would like to add a custom field in the Location Map-page in order to add locations based on zipcode+ address instead of latitude and longitude.

3. I would like to increase the accuracy of the pinpoints; best would be if I could place pinpoints on street-level accuracy. Right now pinpoints are being redirected to a central point in Amsterdam. (I've used accurate latitude and longitude codes)

Any help is highly appreciated!

Big thanks,
Igor
