.POT files are not .PPT files. They are not meant to be viewed in powerpoint. I recommend using a basic text editor to view the contents of the file.

Many thanks for your reply. I have read all the comments and watched videos on youtube on how to translate the theme. I still haven't managed to so. I opened the Languages file and I am unable to open kitchen.pot as I get an error message from Power Point saying "This file may be damaged or it may have been created in a pre-release of Power Point".

Could you please help? I need to translate my website for Brazilian Portuguese, those links such as "Latest", "Featured", "Popular", "Print", "Share" etc...

Ran into several of the same problems and eventually needed to make some changes to the aid.pot file (for the aid wordpress theme this time).

1) Corrected all themoitor -> themolitor typos in comments.php as mentioned earlier by dimkaff.
2) Added
#: ../comments.php:68
msgid "Submit Comment"
msgstr ""
to the .pot file (plus edited the php file following your recommendation above)

3) Changed "ago on:" in the .pot file to "ago on"

All in all - you might want to go through all your .pot files Chris and fix these minor bugs. I love your theme designs (got two of them just today) and would hate to leave anything negative in the comments on Theme Forest - even gripes as small as that!

I'm not sure how you generated the .po file, but that isn't a theme-generated file, so I can't really troubleshoot issues with that. Most likely you'll need to regenerate that .po file after you update the eventure.pot file I mentioned in my last comment.

I did just as you described, but it didn't help...
As you can see here: http://orkladal.datasenter.no/bygd-for-fart/
the Submit comment button is still in english.

I also checked if the problem was that "submit comment" wasn't translated in the language file nb_NO.po file
(the problem could be that even if the theme knows it shall replace these words with another language, it won't happened if there is no translation.. ). So I opened the .po file and looked for "Submit comment" but couldn't find it there at all.

Any further advices regarding what to do... :-)

You're right! "Submit Comment" was overlooked in Eventure. It's located in comments.php on line 68...

Change the following on line 68 from this...

<input name="submit" type="submit" id="submit" tabindex="5" value="Submit Comment" />

...to this...

<input name="submit" type="submit" id="submit" tabindex="5" value="<?php _e('Submit Comment','themolitor');?>" />

...then add this to eventure.pot...

Since its still night in the US i have carried on trying to fix this myself :-)
I didn't make it work with the language plugin Codestyling Localization, witch was my first choice since I have used it successfully in the past.

So I then went back to the first post on this page, and followed all the advices on this page. I downloaded Poedit, changed the file again, and uploaded it to the language folder. Then changed the filenames from

no_NO.mo
no_NO.po

to
nb_NO.mo
nb_NO.po

for norwegian bokmål (a written language in Norway :-)

And then it worked. My page is now translated.

BUT: there is a few exceptions. Like dimkaff wrote, the submit comments button on the bottom of a post doesn't get translated. I have not been able to find out where to fix this. Need help. dimkaff asked "This one I believe is not included in the .pot file in the first place." I can't find it either, - where is it? :-)

Also under comments I can't find out how to change the word required.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? :-)

I am having some problems translating the Eventure theme.
I followed this procedure:

Downloaded the plugin: "Codestyling Localization" and activated it.
Activated it

Wordpress menu -> tools -> Localization
Found the Eventure theme and clicked ad new language. Found Norwegian, witch is my language.
Clicked edit, and translated the 106 different words and sentences listed there. Saved it.

I have done this successfully before with another theme, so I think I have done it right... (but can never be sure).
I then clicked "Generate Mo-file" as I remember that I had to do with the other theme.
If not remembering wrong - that should be it... But the theme is not translated and I got this message on the top of the translation page:

"Warning: The actual loaded translation content contains mixed textdomains and is not pure translateable within one textdomain.
It seems, that there is code contained extracted out of other plugins, themes or widgets and used by copy & paste inside some source files.
The affected unknown textdomains are: themoitor "

It seams to be two text "groups" and maybe thats the reason way my translations are not imported to the theme.
This didn't happened with my other theme, so I don't know how to fix this...

To be more precise, I just want to know if I can use two buttons to traslante the website in two different languages.

For example, I'd like to have something like: ENG | ITA

Default language will be ENG, but if users will click on ITA link, then language website should update and all english text should be translated in italian language.

Is it possible to do this with MISC theme?

The easiest way for me was:

- installing the "Codestyling Localization" plugin
after that you will find a new button in your wordpress-menu

- wordpress menu -> tools -> Localization (or something alike -my menu is in german-)

- choose the theme that you want to translate
- click "add new language" next to the theme and follow the instructions
- click the button like "import" or in my case "einlesen" (all text that can be translated in this theme will be imported)
- click the button like edit or in my case "bearbeiten"
- translate all the text you want
- save and enjoy

I found the solution for the above problems with Logged in as & Log out terms that are not translated:
The comments.php file needs some corrections:
line 42
Correction: Logged in as','themolitor'
Original: 'Logged in as','themoitor'

Correction: Log out of this account','themolitor'
Original: 'Log out of this account','themoitor'

Correction: Log out','themolitor'
Original:'Log out','themoitor'

Also correct line 34 to:
'You must be','themolitor'

Yes, the filename was the issue! Thank you very much for your valuable input!
I also sorted this out by doing some google research. In order to enrich the information I could add the following (source: codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/load_theme_textdomain):

Unlike plugin language files, a name like my_theme-de_DE.mo will NOT work.
Although plugin language files allow you to specify the text-domain in the
filename, this will NOT work with themes. Language files for themes should
include the language shortcut ONLY.

However...my translation is not fully working. For example:
I get the sidebar terms translated (ie Details, Gallery, Tags, More), the add an event page fully translated (including the bottom button: Submit for review)
but
I don't get the translation for the terms:
1) Logged in as & Log out
although they are included in the .po file.

2) Submit comment button(at the bottom of a post)
This one I believe is not included in the .pot file in the first place. Is this correct Chris?

Anyway, I made some progress and this is nice!

As I read it, you have maybe the wrong filenames for the language files.

For example, I have:

da_DK.mo
da_DK.po
eventure.pot

- in the language folder, within the eventure theme folder.

So for Greek your files should be:

el_GR.mo
el_GR.po
eventure.pot

I want to translate to the Greek Language.

Firstly, I have already installed the Greek language files for the Wordpress installation
(given by my Greek host company)
in the wp-content/languages folder.

I have also properly edited (for Greek) the wp-config.php file as:
define ('WPLANG', 'el');

I have followed the above process suggested by member maxivarela and placed the 2 files:
(eventure-el.mo and eventure-el.po)
in the wp-content/languages/themes folder.

In the previous folder there are also the files twentyfourteen-el.mo and twentyfourteen-el.po
(as given by my host).

I get no translation when using the eventure theme. If i switch to the default twentyfourteen theme, then i get a translation.

I also tried all of the above using as language code: el_GR
but i had no luck!

What am I doing wrong?

Just purchased this theme and tried to do a translation. I get an error when trying to follow the instructions. It happens in Poedit when trying to save the translation. I get 2 duplicate errors on 4 files total:

1st error: 'this is the location of the first definition'
2nd error: 'duplicate message definition'
