I deactivated it and as you said, the loading gif was placed in the middle of the website

I think I know the issue... taking a look at your source code, I see you're using the Jetpack plugin. Unfortunately this plugin is notorious for causing script conflicts.

That's a seriously bloated plugin and attempts to do more than maybe it should. I'm confident if you deactivate that plugin, the issue will resolve itself.

I have now added a review with no changes what so ever.
If you visit the site now, there is a test quote on the front page.
And the loading gif is still in the upper left corner

I see what you mean. I noticed you're not using the reviews feature in the lower-left corner. Just for the sake of checking, try adding a review post and see if that addresses the issue with the animation location.

If it does, I'll look into a solution for fixing that when no reviews are in use.

I dont know if this is a bug, but the loading icon/gif is in the top left corner of my website, right under my logo.
shouldn't it be centered in the middle? if so, how can i fix it?
