It's all code based implementation/functions, so you would need to manipulate the pace js files core script to make changes like that.

Ah thought might of been something like that, where abouts it's inserted into the page, just wondering if its like something I could replace with a gif instead

That's not an image. It's a code-generated animation. You can control the color/display from style.css towards the bottom under the following section...

Hi I have been looking around the code trying to find where the loader image that appears in the top right when changing posts comes from. I found and did a override and changed the loader.gif but it's still the same circle loading image. I'm wondering if it is a image as it seems to change to the themes color set in the options?

I'm just looking to change it to a different image to suit my 80s style customizations :)
