It's just that it is easier to have all modifications in the Theme options. When an update arrives of your theme my modifications in style.css are overwritten, unless I make a child theme.
That's the only reason.

I'm not sure I follow. If you've already changed it in the Style.css file, why would you need to change it in the Custom CSS section? I want to make sure I understand the rationale.

It does, but as I said, I changed it in the style.css and would rather change it in the Theme options (custom css).

I set color tot none in the style.css, like this:
#dropmenu li.current-menu-item > a,
#dropmenu li.current-menu-ancestor > a {color: none}

I tried it in the theme options, custom css, but that didn't work. Can't I overrule it there or did I maybe mistype?
Do I have to overrule both (current and ancestor) or ony one of them?

When I then click on menu and the menu shows, the menu item 'hoe' is highlighted. We want to turn that off.

My client thinks it is annoying that when you go the menu the last page visited is always highlighted, as a highlighted link. How can I turn that off.
