OK, I got it working again. I found the plugin that was the issue. For reference it was SEO by Yoast.

Try deactivating any plugins you currently have installed and try using a simple text paragraph in the welcome page.

I can confirm that the customize option is set to the Welcome page in the header section.

I have to say that was a great Photoshop job on the picture, I was impressed :-)

Don't forget, the header section is populated by a page that you select on the Customize page (appearance > customize). Can you confirm you have selected the page that you want to use?

I tried that and there is still nothing in the header of the page http://www.nerrick.com. All that this did was make the content that hits at the bottom toggle between the 2 sections.

In your demo as an example you have the wedding announcement that shows up on the landing portion of the page and then you can scroll down below the menu to see more of the page. I an not getting content in the landing position.

There was something in the update that broke this functionality.

What is the best way to edit the header section of the page to add in the items that I would like to show up on the landing section of the page. I loaded my page and analyzed the code and I can see where the background transparent image is loaded. I am looking for the best and proper way to edit the header of the page.

To populate the main top header section, you need to assign a page to use in that space on the Customize page.

I have set the settings just like the instructions say to do but t he landing page is blank and the menu is at the bottom of the page as it should be and then if you scroll down the welcome page is down below the menu. How do I go about getting content back into the landing spot of the page?

That is how a page is intended to display with MISC. For standard pages, there is no footer/menu. If you want to display the header/menu, you must use the "latest posts" option for the home page.

Prior to updating to v1.1.0 I had the theme set to load a Welcome page as the first page of the site. I updated the theme and recently I have noticed that the page is not loading in the header of the page anymore.
