wp_deregister_script('jquery');
wp_register_script('jquery', ("https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.2/jquery.min.js"), false, '');

I updated the theme to the most recent version (1.0.4) and it's still giving the jQuery error on the homepage when I try to insert a slider. Any help?

Im sorry you dont understand how to update something or use FTP as I said you simple replace the files on your server this is not a theme related one rather a user one, also note Themeforest doenst allow authors to integrate automatic update systems because of the nature of premium themes which is why it needs to be done manually.

also if you're un happy with the theme youre free to submit a ticket to Envato support asknig for a refund http://support.envato.com but they only provide refunds if they find the item to be broken.

Every theme I've ever purchased has had documentation OR a back-end function to upgrade their theme to the latest version. Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll just keep using this old shitty version.

As updating a basic WordPress feature there is no documentation

if you havent editied any theme files

you would simply deactivate option tree(as its not required for newer themes) and replace the theme files via FTP

what version of the theme are you using? sounds like you are using a pretty old one

Lines 108 and 109 in my header.php file show as:

<?php echo $customCSS;?>
</style>

Is that correct? I do have some custom CSS in the theme options, so I don't want to exclude that.

remove lines 108 and 109 in the header.php and it will use the jQuery version which is installed with your version of WordPress

This theme is currently using version 1.6.2. Is it possible to do a theme update with the most recent, stable version of jQuery?
