That's hard to say as the changes made in different versions of jQuery range from small to large.

Please let me know if you run into any issues, though, and I'll jump in to check it out!

update:

i simply change the number (version number?) of above code from

.../jquery/1.5.1/jquery...

to:

.../jquery/1.8.1/jquery...

and it works. the plugin runs well. but my question is: will this change have some negative impact on the theme to run well too later? :-\

removing lines 92-93 of the header.php? do you mean these lines below?

wp_deregister_script('jquery');
wp_register_script('jquery', ("https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.5.1/jquery.min.js"), false, '');

after removing those lines, my homepage won't load correctly. and i need to run some jQuery plugin along with this theme. the plugin author said that one of my other plugins (or possibly even the theme) is swapping jQuery from the default version to an older version. i have deactivated all the plugins except the one that i want to use and it still not working.

please advice.

open the header.php and remove lines 92 and 93

I was wondering what version of jquery the theme loads because a lot of my plugins aren't working due to jquery issues.
