Just a heads up that there's an update available for this theme. You can grab the latest version from your downloads page on ThemeForest.

Hi there,

That doesn't happen by default, so it's likely caused by additional plugins you have installed. Unfortunately I'm not able to troubleshoot issues caused by plugins. I hope you understand.

You'll need to contact the developer of the plugin causing the problem (i.e. social link plugin?), not the developer of the plugin that is being affected (i.e. infinite scroll).

If you encounter any issues using a standard version of the theme, please continue to post here and I'll be happy to troubleshoot with you.

Thanks!

Chris

Hey Chris,
Hate to bug you again. Spoke with plugin creator and he said that infinite scroll is loading the header which is why the plugin doesn't work with the theme. Is it necessary for infinite scroll to load the header? If not, any suggestions on how to remove that?

Thanks!

Hi there,

It's a jQuery plugin called infinite scroll. More info about it here: http://www.infinite-scroll.com/

Please keep in mind that I'm unable to provide support for plugin-related issues. I hope you understand.

Hi there,

I'm still seeing customizations to the theme (image hover effect, etc). Are those plugins? If so, please disable those.

Let me know if that has any impact or I'll take a look.

Thanks!

That's ok. As long as I find out exactly where the fix is then I can copy the code back into the set of files I made changes to. Ok - returned the site to the original theme pre-edit.

Can you take a look? It still doesn't load any more than 30. The loading graphic displays once but that's it.

Thanks!

Hi there,

It looks like you've made edits to the template files, so before I can troubleshoot any theme issues, I'll have to ask that you undo all your edits to make sure your edits aren't the cause of the problem.

Hope you understand.

Hi Chris,

Does turning the sidebar off affect infinite scrolling? My scrolling doesn't work.

http://catchthejiffy.com/category/nature/

I set both the theme and Reading settings to load 30 posts but this category has 203 posts.

I'm using Wordpress 3.5.2.

Thanks,
Mary

Hi there,

Yes, this is a limitation of the masonry script when you're on larger displays and all the content fits in a single view.

The script only works when the scrolling event is triggered. If you can't scroll, then yes, you should increase the number of initial items to display.

I wouldn't consider this a bug, it's just how the script works as the majority of users likely don't have such large screens.

Thanks!

Chris

I was also having this problem. The initial page load looked awful in IE. As a quick fix, I changed my "Initial Number of Items" in the "Home Page" of "Theme Options" from 6 to 8. I have a fairly wide monitor and 6 images will fit in one row across my screen. When I increased it to 8, it has to display the images in two rows and that forced the infinite scroll to work once I scrolled down.

Hi there,

Thanks for the feedback!

So when you upload images to a post and publish the post, the images aren't showing? Were you using the theme before 3.5?

Thanks for the info!

I've been having the same issue with 3.5. By shorten the browser do you mean just to re-size it? I tried that and no luck... I also cant figure out how to get photos to show up in posts after the new gallery updates. I've been uploading them as I normally do, but they aren't showing up in the posts unless I insert a gallery which, obviously, doesnt give me the masonry affect. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there,

Infinite scroll is still working. To see it work, shorten your browser window so that the images extend beyond the visible area and then try scrolling. You'll notice the next link goes away and the next page loads.

This appears to be cause by the amount of images you currently have not extending beyond the viewport/browser window.

I'll look into this though to see if there is some kind of conflict with 3.5...

Thanks!
