Hi there,

The visible space of the background image is 100% based on the size of the browser window. Due to screen sizes and resolutions, the size of the browser window varies from device-to-device. As a result, there is no "silver bullet" when it comes to having the image appear the same on every device by adjusting the dimensions.

In general, background images are meant as a design accent and not intended to contain information or content that needs to be seen. The content in the foreground is meant to serve that purpose.

My best suggestion when it comes to background image sizes is to keep them in 16:9 aspect ratio as this is what the majority of devices have for screen resolution.

Hope that helps!

Best,

Christopher

Hi there,

I'm not sure I totally understand. Are you trying to control the way the image is cropped, and to do so you had to make your image 1024 x 469px ?

Best,

Christopher

It's incredible, i had to put 1024 x 469px in my photoshop'jpeg created to fix this ...
I can't understand why such a "panoramic" size to fit on computer or laptop screens ; that are not for sure panoramic like this.
i checked on two differents laptop/computer's screens.

I understood this while remplacing my background pics from my first website in the ftp of the second one (to try)..
In my first website i didn't pay attention cause it was "clouds sky" backgrounds, and the crop was ok let say..

You can close this topic Chris, i writted for me (and others in this forum) what happend, but, if you have an explanation, could be great.

Thanks

Hi chris,

i am building an other website with your theme.(love it)

But i found the same issue i had with the first one ; size of image background.(doesn't fit at all on screen, image cropped)

The problem is that i can't even understand myself in our past topics about it..

Well, i have put 1024x768 as pixel, tried many sizes, i tried to resize inside wordpress also in the parameters of pictures, its the same issue, the pics are always cropped (cropped in the same way !) on my screen, i tried diferent screens, its the same.

I know there is one trick, but...don't know witch one...

Thanks
