Hi there,

It's really just a matter of trial and error if the image doesn't display exactly like you want on the resolution you anticipate your users to have.

Thanks!

Hi there,

The way the image is cropped depends on both the dimensions of the image and the browser. If you change your browser window dimensions (drag the corners around), you'll see how the cropping/position of the image adjusts.

Thanks!

yep alright chris,

thanks for answers so fast again..i 've been trying already to put content and logo on the wordpress page then i ll try to built a full png and it will be in the center of every screens....and will be wonderfull....
i hope by the way that my screen is very not typical, and that on others screens it will be not so cropped.
are you sure that its normal for a picture to be cropped just on the bottom like this?

i ll make now a new post for the bug panel scrolling, cause maybe the first one i made is too long ;)
this bug is very stressful for me ;)

Hi there,

Couple things...

1. The background image feature is not intended to be a content-based feature (i.e. contain text and information). It's only intended to be a design feature. You should really have a separate logo image that you put in the content area of the page and use an empty clouds image for the background.

2. Your browser window is not a typical size.

3. My suggestion was only a suggestion. If it doesn't work for you, just keep trying different dimensions until you're happy with the results.

Hope that helps!

Chris

hi chris,

hope you had a nice week end...for me too much beers :S

after reading all post about this and yours replies on my first post with basics questions; i have to send you three screenshots to show you how my background images are cropped (cuted)...for the height especially...

1.on this first screenshot, you have the normal full picture made on photoshop (1024x768 as you told me) :

http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=846296homepageok.jpg

2.on this second screenshot, you have to view on my screen from your customize section in wordpress :

http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=379285homepagenotok1.jpg

3.on this third screenshot, you have exactely what i see on my screen (15,6 inch 16:9 1366x768>on windows vista yes i know sorry):'( :

http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=955740homepagenotok2.jpg

please notice that the picture is cropped almost 40% (heignt) :'(

i would like to tell you that i spend many hours trying all kind of sizes for the image, and the bottom of the picture is always cropped in the same way.......

like always thanks for your support, and don't forget my last post for the bug with the panels menu (scrolling effet bug) in my first post "some dumb questions..." :)

(please don't take care of the image also, its just a simple stuff to check size and reaction with different screens, its not a final one)
