I checked the two other discussion here but those did not resolve my issue.
The archive php has the jquery set at ASC order. My sub-categories are already one word and the sluglines do match. I deactivated the grid plug-in I have to display all events under the EVENTS category but this did not resolve the issue with the sub-categories showing in reverse chronological order (furthest future event list first).

I want all event types to be listed as the closest event date to today's date listed first. Hope that makes sense.
