Hi there,

Regarding the black pagination button, I did a little test and confirmed this behavior is normal. When I click a pagination link, it turns black because the hover state is "sticking". When I then click another item, such as the widget button, the black pagination link turns blue (essentially "unsticking" the hover state of the pagination link). This is not a bug. This is just how mobile Safari handles hover states.

Regarding inner panel links to other panels, that isn't a supported feature mainly because nothing is "talking" to your custom link. There isn't a user-friendly method for making custom inner-panel links that interact with the scripting of the theme to change positions or load AJAX content, etc. The theme is intended to be a single-page theme, so access to all the different sections is available in the upper-left menu.

If you need to extend the default functionality of the theme, please use this form to submit a request: http://themolitor.com/custom

Hope that explains things better.

Thanks!

Chris

My hope was that links referencing internal pages would allow you to jump to portions of the site - instead what I notice is that internal links render the page with a link back to the home page, which is not the behavior I expected/need. Is that something that can be easily solved? Sorry this issue came up while trying to understand the hover color sticking issue.

At this point I don't have much enabled other than the Footer menu. If I click on it and go away from the site and come back, it is unstuck. However after the first click within the site it is stuck. Not sure if it is normal or not, but it certainly is different.

When testing I tried inserting a link from within an inner panel pointing to a different page to see if that would change anything. Two things happened: a) the link did not acquire the theme's active/hover colors, and b) when it rendered the page the panel was missing its background image. Had the same thing happen before when I tried inserting a CONTACT US link to the Contact Us page in the Footer Menu. Seems links pointing to internal pages work correctly except that backgrounds are not rendered correctly - assuming it happens because the function that loads all backgrounds is not exercised prior to the transition, rendering the default grey color instead.

Hi there,

Right. But what happens when you click something else (other than the pagination links)? Does the black button turn off (unsticking the hover effect)? If so, this is normal behavior.

Thanks!

Let's take the Main menu as an example. When it first renders the pagination link is blue (correct). If you touch any other box, it renders that particular panel BUT then the active pagination label is now black (the hover color) instead of blue as it should be. So yes, the hover color sticks.

Thanks for the styling tip - much appreciated.

Hi there,

1. When you click another item (not a pagination link, but something else), does the pagination button turn blue? I'm thinking the hover state "sticks" if you don't click anything else. Let me know.

2. The current styling that creates the margin is achieved with the following in the style.css...

.innerPanel {padding:150px 0;}

Just change the padding to whatever you want and throw it in the custom CSS panel of the theme customizer.

Thanks!

Hi Chris, thanks for your response as always.

1. The issue with the Next Panel boxes is not related to the hover state but to the active state. The first panel is shown active blue (correct) but when I click it and move to a second or third panel the current Next Panel box is shown as black and not blue as it should and does in a regular browser (incorrect). Hope I have explained it better?

2. Understand. How can I change top margin in order to accommodate slightly longer content?

Hi there,

Regarding colors, the hover state of the buttons is black and the active state is blue (by default). When you hover over buttons, they change to black. On the iPad, the hover state is applied when you first click the buttons. On the second click, the active state is applied and the panel changes content. This is normal behavior on the iPad - if elements have a hover state, they are always applied on the first click. It takes a second click to activate the link/button.

Regarding dimensions, if the content is shorter than the browser, the panel will adjust to fill the entire window and center the content. If the content is longer than the browser, in order to accommodate that content the panel height adjusts to that of the content. This is true on both the desktop and the iPad.

Hope that explains things better!

Chris

Actually my last question didn't come out right as the panel is not the one to be fixed but the container dimensions are the ones affecting the panel length. Is there a way to change container dimensions and particularly top margin so as to accommodate larger/longer content? Since the panel is responsive it will acquire a larger/longer shape to allow for longer panel content and fixed top margin pushes everything down - hence I would like to be able to change the container's dimensions and top margin. Thanks.

When running Panels/my site in landscape mode and when a particular panel is longer than the iPad's display window, the Next Panel boxes color changes. Selected is no longer blue but black. Blue color is present on first panel but then changes to black in the others. This behavior does not happen in Safari/MBP. How can I make the boxes use consistent coloring? And is there a way to fix a panel ratio so that it will never exceed an iPad's landscape display window? Thanks.
