Hi there,

Auto scrolling is not a feature I intend to add. There are usability issues that surround something like that as page loading times, user expectations and readability are all factors that would be negatively impacted.

Best,

Chris

No I understand that it could take a while to implement and not a wise business model to take on every custom feature people might want... Which is why I did posted over in the feature request forum (as you suggested)... Hopefully people will all agree it would be a cool feature and then you would add it when you had the time to or in the 1.4 release or something...

But it still remains that I need to figure something out so I was asking if you there was anything you could think of off the top of your head that was down and dirty and could work for the time being...

Its ok that you said no... I am just saying that most people buying themes on theme forest don't have thousands of dollars for modifications... I could throw you 50 bucks for an hour of your time to get it to work but above that we really don't have the cash like big companies do... So thats not an option for me...

The other theme that I did contact Workpress about I wanted to modify a lot more which is why I agreed to contact them and when they gave me their price, I did not just come back to the forum complaining and wanting the features anyway... I knew I would have to make them myself or come up with the cash...

We are all well aware of your time and appreciate your support... I try to really be conscious of when I am asking to much and when I am not getting the support that is required... This feature is definitely a gray area in that regards... It is just a change to the current functionality of the NAV we are not adding or taking anything away from it just chaining the behavior... Which is why I posted again... I though well maybe this is something we could work though... But you just said no call these guys...

So I just said fine can't afford that... I will figure out something or just tell my friend he has to wait... But I asked if this was something you might implement later or thought it was a good idea and would get around to it when you start making your update revision?

I am sorry I offended you... However I still would like to know if this is on the road map or not at all... Or if there is a review process for new features and at that point it will be discussed...

Thank you! I do not take your time and support for granted...

Hi there,

Please understand that support does not include customizations. I simply don't have the resources to research, write custom code and test the custom code for everybody who asks for it. It's just not a sustainable business practice to do that.

As I mentioned in my response, if I know how to do it off the top of my head and it's a quick thing, then absolutely I'll help out. You can see there's a history of me doing just that on these forums for the past 5 years.

I appreciate that you think your request is simple and quick, but the truth is it requires at least 30 minutes to an hour of research, writing and testing. That's just not something I can provide for free. I already spend upwards of 1 to 2 hours on basic support, so customizations like this are not something that should be expected of authors as a free service.

Hope you understand.

Best,

Chris

Oh the copy and paste, I don't know talk to these guys... You know a lot of your clients or people that buy your themes probably don't have a lot of money... I sent in a request for that other theme I was curious about and the price they came with was astronomical for relatively simple changes...

I'm just going to do a work around with CSS transitions... But is this something you might include in theme at a later date? or is it a function I will have to pay for at some point no matter what?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry, but that goes beyond the level of support I'm able to provide here in the forums. If it was something I knew off the top of my head I would gladly help, but if it requires a bit of research, testing and custom code then I have to refer you to the customization request form: http://themolitor.com/customization-request

Hope you understand.

Thanks!

Since this will be a feature request... It might take some time before I have access to it...

Is there anyway I can achieve something like I am talking about in the meantime? Maybe it has no delay or anything for now or maybe I could hand write the delay in?

Like if I go into the functions.php is there some place I can change the code for fade in action to include a scroll down? Sorry to bother you with this so much...

It's just my client really wants to go live soon... So i kinda don't know what to do... I guess I can tell them we will have to live with it for now and it will potentially be in the next version of the template... But what would be better is if I could make it work with some glue and scotch tape for now and we really fix it later?

What do you think? Thanks man!

Oh... I did not think this was a new features just a change to the current functionality... I guess the delay would be an additional feature... I will repost over there... Thanks...

It would be very cool if when I click a menu in the nav... That instead of fading to the title of that menu and popping up the continue button... It would do all that and then in addition it would automatically scroll me down (as if I clicked the continue button)... Another super cool thing would be if we could set a delay on that...

So you click a category in the nav... Then it fades up the title of the category and the description you put for the category there... Then waits how ever long you set and then auto scrolls you down to the post in that category...
