The only thing I can think is that there was an issue in the installation somewhere. There aren't any known issues with the theme that would cause this to happen.

Do you have another testing environment/domain to install on? I'm certain this has something to do with either the installation process or with your particular setup.

Hi Chris, I haven't installed anything but the theme.. As I said, I just followed the instructions provided in the guide you provided. I really have no idea why it's not working, as it should be.

I've installed OptionTree. The formatting of the page is still the same, and the menu items are appearing the wrong positions. Not quite sure why this is happening.

@megahit You're running version 1.1.2 of this theme. The latest version is 1.2.1. The version you're running requires the OptionTree plugin.

Hey Chris,

I'm having the exact same problem as Bammoman. OptionTree is not installed, and am running PHP 5.2. There is no error for stylesheets missing, it appears in my theme folder perfectly fine, and I'm certain I uploaded the correct folder. I do not have an available theme options tab to reset. Not sure what what's going on, as I've been troubleshooting this for quite some time.

I can confirm there are no theme-related errors that would cause this to happen, so this has something to do with your particular setup. The hard part is finding out what that is...

Did you happen to install the OptionTree plugin? Since OptionTree is built into the theme, installing the plugin can cause problems.

No sorry mate, I only did what was asked in the instruction manual. Haven't gone out my way to install anything else, or do anything differently. Kinda running out of options are we? :(

If we aren't able to get it to work, is it possible to refund me for my template purchase? Hopefully I don't have to and we can get it to work, but not looking to hopeful at the moment. Otherwise if there is any way you could possibly try get it to work, I might be able to pay you for your time?

This thread is for the Nocturnal theme. For all other themes, please post a thread in the proper theme forum. Even though the issues might sound the same, the solutions might be completely different.

Also, please be sure to visit the theme options panel (under the "appearance" menu) and be sure all necessary fields are filled out.

If you continue to have trouble, and this is for a theme other than Nocturnal, please create a new thread in the forum for your theme.

I have the exact same problem as well. I bought the novelist theme and I get the exact same results. I don't receive any error messages at all. I have performed all the mentioned methods for uploading and resetting with no luck. Still a broken display.

Just to make sure, you didn't install the OptionTree plugin, right? If you did, you'll need to delete that and possible make some edits to your database.

Yeh I just checked, I definitely did it right. The folder I uploaded is called 'wpnocturnal' and inside you will find the style.css

Any other ideas man?

Hey Chris,

Thanks for getting back to me mate.

I checked my hosting provider and it appears the do offer PHP5, so we can scratch that one out.

I also went into the theme options and clicked the 'reset options' button. It still appears blank mate. All I can see on the Theme Options page is the reset options and save options button. Everything else is blank. So I guess something is blocking wordpress from linking up with the theme options program that your theme uses.

I didn't get any errors saying missing style.css like the couple above me, but do you think this might be the problem? Otherwise, any other suggestions!?

Never mind, I figured! Looks like there is a zip file within the zip file that themeforest provided. Upload that one. Just worked for me.

I just purchased the Eventure theme and I'm having the same problem as Anderson Rino (above me). It states there is a missing style.css file

Sorry you're having trouble.

It's never a good idea to go to the front-end of the site immediately after installing a premium theme. It can be discouraging for sure ;-) 99% of premium themes require a bit of setup before you can be proud to show off your site :-)

The key issue here is that you can't save your theme options settings because, well, you can't see it at all, right? Let's work on fixing that...

When you navigate to "appearance" > "theme options" what do you see? Do you see a "reset" button? If so, try clicking that.

If you don't see anything at all, can you check what version of PHP your hosting provider is using? The theme options require PHP 5+, so anything less will cause this to happen.

Hi Chris,

I just purchased the Nocturnal theme mate, and for some reason the theme just isn't working. I've tried two different methods of installing the theme 1. Just uploading the zip file through Wordpress itself and 2. Using Filezilla to ftp over the installation folder. Both have ended up the same. Everything looks fine when I go to my 'themes' directory in Wordpress, the Nocturnal theme image shows up and what not, but when I go to preview my site, the whole thing looks completely broken. I also can't access any of the theme options, it just shows up as blank.

Help would be greatly appreciated mate!
