Hi Chris, not sure why you can't connect - but what you suggested was the problem - the 2 hard coded bits. Sorted - thanks a lot :-)

Hi there,

I'm not able to load the page that you linked to. Can you please confirm the links are correct?

Also, please keep in mind some date formatting is hard-coded in certain places. For example, you'll see the following in index.php on line 37 AND in header.php on line 73.

[...]<?php the_time('m.d.Y') ?>[...]

You can manually adjust those using the WordPress theme editor feature in the dashboard.

Let me know if that helps!

Best,

Christopher

Hi there,

Try this...

Open header.php and add the following under
wp_head();
on line 12...

date_default_timezone_set('UTC');

Depending on where you are located, you'll want to change 'UTC' to your timezone. You can find your timezone label here: http://www.php.net/manual/en/timezones.php

Let me know if that helps!

Hi Chris,

Found this thread while searching for the same answer that others are looking for, but had no luck with the date updating even after clearing my cache.

I have my time settings as UTC-7 (I am in Vancouver, BC) and the time is still showing as UTC. Was there any solution provided for this?

We have school clients who are going to be rather confused if the website is showing that it is a day ahead.

Appreciate any help!
Michelle

Hi there,

I went to both sites and see the correct date. Couple things that might cause the wrong date to appear:

1. Caching plugin. Caching plugins take a snapshot of the page and load that page over and over until it takes another snapshot. Most caching plugins allow you to control how frequently the home page is cached, which may address this issue.

2. Improper UTC information in your WordPress settings. You can adjust the UTC offset from your WordPress settings.

3. Your browser is caching the sites you visit. Try clearing your browser cache to see if that adjusts the date information.

Hope that helps!

Chris

Hi.

I recently noticed that the date is incorrectly showing on my site. It's visible here: http://ots-sdchc.org. I've looked everywhere on the web and can't find anything, just hoping you might have a lead. Called the host provider, nothing there. I read some threads about some stats plugin, but I don't even have that installed. This used to display properly, and now all of a sudden, its a day ahead. Under general, settings for wordpress, the timezone and date is correctly displayed. I've reset these options and still nothing. Any ideas?

Thanks for your time,
Michael
