Hi
I googled centering images in WP and found this which I placed in the custom css window:

.aligncenter, img.aligncenter { clear: both; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; }

Everything centered nicely after that.

Hi there,

I took a look at your site and see the captions/images appearing nice and centered. Were you able to resolve this? If not, please clarify the issue and where it's occurring specifically.

Let me know.

Best,

Hi

Concerning my previous post this morning: 1) centering of pics—I noticed that when I replaced a pic with a newly uploaded one it centered. But I had forgotten to add a caption. When I did, it went off center. Something about the caption is causing the centering problem...I think.

Hi

Sir, I owe you a big damn apology. I had Jetpack plugin installed. As a newbie to wp and themes, I stupidly didn't realize it would cause problems, I thought everyone was supposed to install it. I deactivated it and now the pictures come up fine...except for a couple small potatoes.

1) They're not centered. I tried adding <p style="text-align: center;"> </p> and then <div style="text-align: center;"> </div>, but neither has worked;

and

2) The pics could use ht/width attributes. Some are too big. So, in looking at the code on my Text of the page, where should I add these attributes, or if I need to go to the source code, how do I do that?

Again, my apologies for making you work when the problem was on my end.

Hi

Interesting. What I put up was the text of the page.

Hmm. So where in that text that I have should I add the width, height attributes; I assume appearing as width="600" height="388", for example?

Or do I need to go to the source code itself, and if so, how do I get there?

Hi there,

I converted your markup so that it appears as code text. You can scroll to the right to see the whole thing.

Here's the image markup I see in the source code for the first image in the section you're referring to...

<img data-recalc-dims="1" alt="Portrait of Loomis" src="http://i0.wp.com/www.lifeneverbegins.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/loomis1.jpg?resize=600%2C388" class="size-large wp-image-252">

As you can see there (if you scroll to the right), there are no height/width attributes.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Here is the img tag with what I believe are the width and height at the end:

<img class="size-large wp-image-252"

Hi

Here is what (I believe) is an image tag taken from the page:

<img class="size-full wp-image-314" src="http://www.lifeneverbegins.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/James_LES_1c.png" alt="Streetscene No. 1" width="504" height="600" />

I see height and width attributes at the end, or do they relate to something else?

How should a proper image tag look?

Hi there,

I noticed that your image tags don't have any width or height attributes. This might be the issue. Try adding those to the image tags and see if that helps with the positioning of the images.

Best,

There is no change. Pics still cut off at bottom when clicked on. While, yes, if one returns to a page it appears complete, tho off-center, that is not a satisfactory solution.

If one can embed videos in a horizontal page and it appears centered in the page surely a pic is easier or can be done.

I also changed the name of the page to "James' Art; CD Cover (EL) and again in the menu the blue background doesn't show up. Perhaps I need to add ';' to the list I added "'" in those 2 places. The url changes too, to 'http://www.lifeneverbegins.com/#james--art;-cd-cover-%28el%29' and it remains that way if I click on the menu to other pages.

Is this what I should add: ';', ?

Hi
Thanks for the reply.

I installed WP Super Cache, sounds like a good idea. After activating, I went to Settings and it said, "Permlink Structure Error—A custom url or permalink structure is required for this plugin to work correctly. Please go to the Permalinks Options Page to configure your permalinks."

So I went to that page, the permalink setting is on default, there is a custom structure with a space for a new url but am unsure what to do. Any idea?

__________________________________________

Btw, is another choice besides 'Default' in general preferable? They have a number of options. Just looking at it, the 'numeric' and 'post-name' seem like they might be preferred. It also says, "This can improve the aesthetics, usability, and forward-compatibility of your links."

Hmm. Something else to consider. Any suggestion there?

Thanks again for your attention to my issues.

best

Hi there,

The issue is related to the time it takes for the images to load. You'll notice that if you toggle between images, they will position correctly.

Have you tried using a caching plugin to help with loading times? I recommend WP Super Cache: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/

Let me know if that has any impact.

Best,

Hi

I created a horizontal page with images of art used in the movie. Most begin near the middle of the page and get cut off at the bottom.

I tried adding a bunch of and they pushed them up a bit, but if I used too many the menu bottom right to move between pics disappeared.

What can I do there?

It's the 'James' Art' page at http://www.lifeneverbegins.com/
