This is an atrocious work-around for the general population and a bulk import of location seems pretty basic and should be fixed in theme itself. Sad face.

How do you use the CSV ponpikey provided. Do you use the CSV importer plugin. I keep getting this message on test runs: "

Skipped 9 posts (most likely due to empty title, body and excerpt).

Imported 0 posts and 0 comments in 0.01 seconds."

I have written in the past that I would have been willing to pay 10x as much for the template had it come with many more mapping solutions (Which are already built into the .js, but are not being used in this template).

It is one of those tough situations where a person comes up with a great solution, but does not have either the time or expertise to follow through, so the impending "upgrades" are left to someone else to pick up.

I have spent $100 on templates that offer FULL support and it works PERFECTLY after I use their support. It is what it is...

I hope I have helped some of you! (PS - I payed full price to have this plugin created. You guys will just be paying for the plugin itself. It's a GREAT deal for you guys!!)

Superb. Thanks dig the falls. While the theme is a good one, I feel the fact that this hasnt been addressed pushes people to sign up to the Molitor customisations requests..spending more money...I wont be using any of these again! $40, call me old fashioned but I expect at least some support from the developer.

I actually had someone work me up a new CSV importer that would import the lat lon properly, along with keywords/tags.
I was able to upload about 1700 items within a couple seconds. There are some important formatting options you want to keep in mind while updating, but after a few "test" CSV's I was all set!

I had written a post to the forum, but cannot find it now.

The advanced plugin IS available and for sale if you want to contact:

Todd H. Gardner (todd@toddhgardner.com)
Founder G12 Solutions

Todd also has a great deal of expertise with the gmap data and can help add other features to the mapping. He charges a VERY reasonable hourly rate and has offered top notch customer service to date!

Wow, really struggling with this, I may have to can the project.

I have the following in a CSV file:

ID	csv_post_title	csv_post_post	csv_post_excerpt	csv_post_categories	csv_post_tags	csv_post_date	csv_post_author	csv_post_slug	csv_key	meta_key	meta_value	key	object_id	post_id	term_taxonomy_id

My key string seems to look ok:

a:7:{s:4:"zoom";s:2:"14";s:8:"latitude";s:9:51.668736,0";s:9:"longitude";s:9:"0.290902";s:11:"address_one";s:0:"";s:11:"address_two";s:0:"";s:3:"pin";s:0:"";s:6:"bg_img";s:0:"";}

I run the CSV importer, posts are created, everything looks ok. But when I view the post the lattitude and longitude fields just contain the first letter of the KEY STRING = A

Any suggestions ideas would be greatly appreciated right now.

CSV Importer does work for the Pages, but will not import the Lat/Lon fields, due to "Taxonomies" issues... If someone could draw a correlation between the missing details in the Functions.PHP and what the importer needs to complete the import there would be a lot of very happy people who have purchased the navigator.

BTW - The Navigator is Awesome!!

Hi all

After playing around with this for a while, I have worked up a horrible horrible solution for how to batch import posts into the theme
(it is not pretty, and it is time consuming, but no where near as bad as manually entering several hundred points)

It requires you to manually append rows to the following three tables in the wordpress database of your site:

wp_posts
wp_postmeta
wp_term_relationships

wp_posts contains all the standard post fields (like the body content and the heading)
wp_meta contains non-standard fields, eg lat and long
and wp_term_relationships controls what category something is assigned to (you can find out what the numbers mean by looking at wp_terms, for example on my site id 1 is 'uncategorised'

what you need to do is create three sql files that have all the relevant data for the three tables you want to upload to, then using whatever sql tool you use for the back end of your site (eg phpmyadmin), upload your sql dumps and append them to the three tables

there are only two traps here - make sure you check what ID was last used on the post table, so you know which one you are working with for your upload (eg if the last post id was 900, have your upload ids be 901, 902 etc) - the same goes for meta_id on the postmeta table

The second is the field meta_value on the postmeta table

it contains a value something like the following

a:7:{s:4:"zoom";s:2:"15";s:8:"latitude";s:10:"-37.251305";s:9:"longitude";s:10:"144.458871";s:11:"address_one";s:14:"11 Epping Road";s:11:"address_two";s:12:"Kyneton 3444";s:3:"pin";s:0:"";s:6:"bg_img";s:0:"";}

this means the following

a:7:{} - seven fields and values to follow within brackets

s:4:"zoom";s:2:"15" - 4 characters long, field zoom, 2 characters long, value 15 - this means this post has a zoom of 15

same for latitude, longidute, address 1, address 2,custom pin, custom image

So you need to write a function that takes the length of each field (lat, long, addr1, addr2), and creates that ugly string above for your posts

I have successfully uploaded ~500 posts in a batch having the following values for each table

wp_posts:

ID
sets ID values

post_title
the title of the post (appears on main map when you hover over the point)

post_author
- a number representing who the author is (default user will be 1)

post_date
- set to current date/time

post_date_gmt
- set to current date/time +- time zone value depending on where you are in the world

post_content
the details field of your post

post_name
doesnt matter what you set it too really as long as it is unique

post_status
set to 'publish'

post_modified
- set to current date/time

post_modified_gmt
- set to current date/time +- time zone value depending on where you are in the world

guid
- post url (in the standard format with ID on the end)

wp_postmeta:

meta_id
set to last unused meta id value

post_id
the id of the post this relates to

meta_key
insert the value 'key'

meta_value
the horrible string as described above

wp_term_taxonomy:

object_id
- the post id this relates to

term_taxonomy_id
- the number relating to your category (eg 1 for uncategorised)

term_order
'0'

Hope this makes some sense

Obviously this relies on you having the lat, long, addr1, addr2 that you want to upload already

Good luck guys!
